Accessibility in Slovenia

For many years, the Urban Institute of the Republic of Slovenia has been performing the task of assessing the accessibility of facilities in public use on the entire territory of the country. It is about fulfilling the goal set in the establishment of this portal, which also contains a database with information on the accessibility of facilities in public use. The database was created in 2010 as one of the main results of a survey co-financed by the Public Research Agency of the Republic of Slovenia and the Ministry of Labor, Family and Social Affairs. An important part of the information in the database was obtained through an accessibility assessment carried out within the ZMOREMO project, which was co-financed in 2014 by the MDDSZ and the European Commission (PROGRESS program). The database is gradually being supplemented with new information on the accessibility of facilities in public use on the basis of occasional orders for such an assessment by various operators of facilities in public use in Slovenia.

In terms of purpose, the database presents information on accessibility for public facilities with the following functions:

  •   education, training and employment facilities
  •   facilities for the implementation of health and social care activities
  •   facilities for access to state administration services
  •   facilities for access to the offer of cultural institutions
  •   passenger transport facilities
  •   leisure activities facilities (sports, recreation, tourism)

At the moment, it is only possible to search the database of objects in the Slovenian language
